With the highly anticipated release of the International Sustainability Standards (ISSBs) IFRS global reporting standards, formal adoption of the EU’s CSRD, and promises of existing standards to align and harmonize across the alphabet soup of ESG, While final rules and details were delayed, private markets took the lead, with large corporations announcing ambitious climate plans focused on supply chain decarbonization. Across these developments, the consensus is clear: scope 3 emissions are critical to climate accountability, and efforts have shifted to focus on supply chain decarbonization.
