2023 was poised to be “the year of interoperability” of sustainability reporting. With the highly anticipated release of the International Sustainability Standards (ISSB’s) IFRS global reporting standards, formal adoption of the EU’s CSRD, and promises of existing standards to align and harmonize across the alphabet soup of ESG. While final rules and details delayed, private markets took the lead, with large corporations announcing ambitious climate plans focused on supply chain decarbonization. Across these developments, the consensus is clear: scope 3 emissions are critical to climate accountability, and efforts have shifted to focus on supply chain decarbonization.

In many ways, 2023 will be the year that heralded a new standard for sustainability in business worldwide. Join our team of experts as they discuss pivotal moments of 2023 and guide companies on how to best prepare for increasing what’s coming in 2024 and beyond.

The webinar will examine the regulatory and voluntary reporting developments over the past year, highlighting overlap and distinction across the year’s biggest announcements, including:

  • The official release of ISSB’s IFRS S1 Sustainability and S2 Climate disclosures
  • California Climate Package SB-253 and SB-261
  • Formal adoption of ESRS reporting standards to facilitate EU’s CSRD
  • CDP alignment with ESRS
  • Australia’s Proposed Climate Disclosure Mandate
