GRI, provider of the first and most trusted global standard for sustainability impact, is fully aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, making it the default system for organizations world-wide to deliver transparent and accountable ESG disclosures. Employed across public and private companies, government agencies, cities, universities and non profits, GRI allows for the most comprehensive impact reporting across economic, environmental and social topics.

GRI’s Universal Standards provide the foundation for corporate reporting with disclosures on management approach and guidelines on material topics. Businesses can then select from topic-specific standards, as well as new, sector-specific standards, designed to help identify a sector's most significant impacts and reflect stakeholder expectations for sustainability reporting. The Actions featured on the Sustain.Life platform—key steps that users can take to make progress towards marked sustainability goals—are now tagged with corresponding GRI indicators, showing business how individual projects translate to formal reporting priorities.

“We welcome that Sustain.Life has completed certification through the GRI Certified Software and Tools Program, meaning they are authorized to use the GRI Standards content,” said Mirjam Groten, Chief Business Development Officer, GRI.

“The GRI Standards are the most widely used sustainability reporting standard globally, and Sustain.Life is leading the way in equipping our users with the tools they need to communicate their sustainability progress,” said Annalee Bloomfield, CEO of Sustain.Life. “With the GRI reporting framework, users are able to easily demonstrate their impact to all key stakeholders, including employees, customers, partners, investors, and recruits.”

Furthermore, Sustain.Life is also newly aligned with the TRUE certification program for zero waste. Administered by Green Business Certification Inc. (GBCI), TRUE helps facilities measure, improve and recognize zero waste performance by encouraging the adoption of sustainable waste management and reduction practices, which contribute to positive environmental, health and economic outcomes. Sustain.Life’s premium subscription program content, integrated with TRUE, guides users on how to identify their critical waste streams, establish reduction goals and implement programs to support zero waste strategies at scale. The TRUE-aligned content provides users with an incremental pathway that prioritizes core actions essential to making an impactful start towards zero waste and a circular economy.

“The TRUE framework for waste reduction is an incredibly valuable toolkit that enables organizations to mitigate their environmental impact,” said Celeste McMickle, Director of Client Solutions. “We are excited to collaborate with Sustain.Life to leverage our industry-leading certification system and help companies across multiple industries reduce waste, improve their resource management and achieve their climate goals.”

“Integrating TRUE further positions Sustain.Life as a leader in waste management. We are proud to adopt the TRUE rating system to lower the barrier of entry for companies striving to eliminate waste,” said Alyssa Rade, Chief Sustainability Officer at Sustain.Life. “Sustain.Life’s guidance and data management tools facilitate the KPI tracking critical to pursuing TRUE certification, and connect distinct reduction initiatives to the world's leading waste reduction certification program. As users progress through the platform’s recommended Actions, they will find themselves well positioned to pursue this ambitious award.”
