Understand Streamlined Carbon and Energy Reporting (SECR)

Sustain.Life SECR resource

Does Streamlined Carbon and Energy Reporting (SECR) impact your company?

The UK Government has set an ambitious emissions reduction target of 80% by 2050 from a 1990 baseline. To achieve this goal, SECR requires large and listed companies—around 12,000 in total—to disclose climate-related information in alignment with TCFD. As a replacement for the previous Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC) Energy Efficiency Scheme, SECR has broadened the scope of regulations to hold corporations more accountable for their energy consumption and associated emissions.
